Since Women Compassion was established in 2017, we aimed to support and empower the women inmates at Bureau Jail Management and Penology, Olongapo City Philippines. Our second visit in 2018 was equally wonderful. Some of the inmates since we visited in 2017 were already released but some were still in jail management and have recognized us as they enter the visitors area coming from their cells. Women Compassion and our Diocese of Mary members were so happy as we see their excitement meeting us again. They were only 240 inmates compared to 2017. Because of the eruption of Taal volcano that is about tree hours drive from BJMP and onset of covid19 uncertainties in 2019, Women Compassion were unable to travel to visit the new and old inmates from BJMP.  Despite the fact of uncertainties, we continued to support them by sending boxes of good conditioned used clothes, blankets, towels and personal hygiene products in 2020 and 2021. Women Compassion also extended their help to those affected by strong typhoon to different locations in Northern and Southern part of the Philippines. We are so grateful to those people who supported our Song Festival in 2019 in Sydney without whom we would have not done our causes - to encouraged Sydney's young adults to compete and pursue their singing endeavours and to empower the women inmates in Olongapo City, Philippines for preservation of well being.
